Earnhoney vs NADAMobile - Where should your Rokus be? (Passive Roku Channel Comparison)

Hey guys :)

Very recently Nada Mobile released their own roku channel which you can earn nadapoints on. In fact, they're currently giving away 30,000 Nadapoints for you to buy a roku and earn with it! Earnhoney has had their roku channel out for months now, and I have had a lot of success with it. After giving both channels a thorough examination, I must ask... Which channel is super?

I'm going to make this post as a comparison to the two channels. I'll write out the pros and cons for each and then go through and explain my reasoning for what I recommend.

Let's get started.

Earnhoney

Pros of Earnhoney

  • High payouts
  • No limit to the number of Rokus you can use
  • $5 PayPal and Amazon

Cons of Earnhoney

  • Takes a long time to pay
  • Lots of issues/errors within the roku channel
  • Infrequent ads

Minimum Cashout: $5 PayPal or Amazon.

Reward Processing Speed: According to the FAQ: Submissions between Friday to Monday will be delivered on the following Friday. Submissions between Tuesday to Thursday will be delivered on the following Monday. You could be waiting as long as a week to get paid. It's certainly slower than average, but it is nice that they have a consistent flow of payments.

Amount You Make: For every advertisement you watch, you will earn 0.5 HD (0.525 if you factor in a 5% bonus from sharing on Facebook). It seems that for every 3 videos you watch, you will be presented with one advertisement. In some cases you might have to watch as many as 4-5 videos until you will get an advertisement. The ads are an average of 30 seconds long, and the videos are an average of 60 seconds long. This means that you should be getting credit for an ad every 3 1/2 minutes or so. That means you shoud be making about $0.01 ($0.0105) every 7 minutes. In theory, if the channel continuously runs without stops, you will earn about $0.085 ($0.08925) every hour, or roughly $2.05 ($2.15) per day with one Roku.

Run Time: The roku channel for Earnhoney has a lot of issues. After about an hour or two of running, you are more than likely to run into one of several possible errors. The most common issues will be 'could not play video', but there is always the inevitable 'are you still watching?' popup. The longest I think I've gotten the channel to run unattended is three hours.

NADAMobile

Pros of NADA

  • Low minimum cash out

Cons of NADA

  • $25 Minimum for PayPal (with fees)
  • "Gift Card Sold Out"
  • Limit 1 roku per account (for now)

Minimum Cashout: $0.25 Amazon (might be $1 now) .... but if you want PayPal you'll have wait for the $25 minimum, with 8% fees.

Reward Processing Speed: Nadamobile is usually pretty good with payouts. Generally you will never be waiting more than 48 hours to get paid, and if you've cashed out a lot of times before you'll probably get paid within 24 hours.

Amount You Make: For every advertisement you watch, you will earn 4 Nadapoints. ($0.004) This is 20% less than Earnhoney, but that doesn't mean that you'll make less with Nada. Earnhoney's channel is cluttered up with lengthy videos that take a while to get through. Nada has short 30 second videos, and they put an ad after each video you watch (in most cases). This means that you'll be earning 4 nada points after just over one minute on average. This is about 70% faster than Earnhoney, meaning that even though the payouts per ad are reduced by 20%, you'll still be earning faster with Nada because of the frequency of ads. You'll be able to earn $0.24 per hour, or $5.76 per day with just one Roku (in theory, at least. I've found myself earning about $3-4 per day with my single roku. I think the issue is that about 10-20% of the time it will say 'video will play after this ad' but then skip the ad and go to a video. You might feel like you are earning less if you're someone who has multiple Rokus because they limit one per account for now.

Run Time: The roku channel for Nada Mobile is the closest thing we have to perfect. Despite being so new, they have been really working on this for a long time and it's clear that it has been tested. I have had my roku running unattended for a really long time now, and there has been no hiccups whatsoever. Just to make some things clear, you cannot get the channel to run passively unless you change a setting. To do this, you'll want to loop the videos. You can change this setting by pressing the star button to bring you to options (when you are on the main menu). Next, tick the box that says 'loop videos'. Now you'll be able to watch these videos on auto pilot!

Conclusion

If you're someone who has one Roku and is looking to make some money with it, it is hard to just tell you which one I would recommend. I think it really depends on which payout method you'd like to receive. If you're a paypal person, you should probably use Earnhoney. Assuming you have a verified PayPal, you can get paid to paypal with a $5 minimum with no fees. If you want amazon, maybe you'd prefer Nada. $1 minimum is great, and they tend to pay faster too.

If you're someone who has multiple Rokus, I'd recommend you put one of the Rokus on Nada, just to spread the eggs around a bit. Earnhoney is a great one to keep lots of rokus on because they don't have limits.
